- To build a world where nothing goes to waste, we need new technologies and different ways of doing things to cut down on needless waste.
- In May 2023, Viridor successfully become a majority shareholder in Quantafuel AS, following a formal offer for acquisition for c.£90m. We are developing our operations in Scandinavia, where we already have infrastructure in place.
- Our ultimate goal is to scale up our Chemical Recycling capacity and transform the landscape of recycling, continually driving our business towards a sustainable, circular economy.
- Together, we can redefine recycling, reduce waste and ensure a greener future for generations to come.
- Technology is at the heart of the safe and sustainable treatment of waste. We continuously horizon scan for technological advancements, which help tackle the difficult challenges in recycling and reprocessing plastics. This is essential as plastic is the principal source of fossil carbon emissions in Energy from Waste. This approach is set out in our vision of being the UK's leading innovator of resource recovery and recycling, transforming waste for a climate-positive future.
The team at Viridor are very passionate about raising awareness of how young people can get involved in the work to benefit communities in Wales. As well as providing engaging sessions and site visits to explain the processes they use, they make sure pupils are aware of the opportunities open to them in the industry.
